Data Resiliency
At BioT, data resiliency is a core principle of our cloud-native architecture. We ensure that customer data is protected, recoverable, and available, even in the face of infrastructure failures or unexpected events.
High Availability Schemes
BioT’s system supports a high-availability architecture built on AWS availability zones, designed to provide continuous service and data access. For customers who have contracted for high availability, system components are deployed across multiple zones to ensure that if one zone experiences an issue, service remains uninterrupted. This architecture minimizes downtime risks and enhances reliability where high availability has been explicitly included in the customer agreement.
Backup and Retention Policies
In addition to system-level high availability, BioT maintains a comprehensive backup strategy to protect against data loss or corruption across all environment types:
Production Environments
- Daily backups retained for 30 days
- Weekly backups retained for 12 weeks
- Monthly backups retained for 12 months
- Yearly backups retained for 10 years
Pre-production Environments (e.g., Development, Staging)
- Daily backups retained for 7 days
These backups are securely managed and are used solely by BioT to restore system data when needed. Customers do not need to take any backup-related actions.
